headache relief

Hello out there in TV Land! I'm posting from my Granny's house on her brand spankin' new computer! :) I came over this afternoon to burn a CD and help her figure out email and IMs.

Yesterday I went to the Cold Harbor reenactment with my mom and some of her friends. It was actually pretty interesting. They fired the cannon, which was loud, and their rifles, which sounded like little pellet blasters or something. Then they had this band that played music from the Civil War period.... it was interesting. Finally they had these candlit tours through the battlefield and the earthworks. It was awesome! It was all dark and we were out in the forest in these medium sized groups. They lead us through the battlefield and the reenactors were there acting like it was actually during the battle at Cold Harbor and we were reinforcements just sent it. It was really amazing because sometimes you could actually feel like you might really be in 1864, that is until the kids started talking/whining and everyone went buck wild with their flashlights. I enjoyed myself though. And at the end of the tour they brought us to two men who were digging up the graves on the battlefieds to give the solidiers proper burials and they asked if anyone knew why the war was even fought because they sure as hell didn't. It made me think and it really disturbed me to think that back then most regular people probably didn't really know why we were fighting. If they weren't politicians or soldiers why would they know? And they fought for so long and so many people died, it's just crazy to think that people were wandering around asking why and being totally clueless. That just really stuck with me after we left.

Mom, Caesar, and I also got haircuts yesterday. I have pseudo bangs. :D
